Fabric Cutting

Fabric cutting is much more of a complex process than you might realize. Grading Fashion LLC uses Niebuhr cradle feed spreading machines and POREX® Vacuum Hold-Down Sheets that allow us to spread fine fabrics without stretching.

What this means in plain english is that most Clothing Manufacturers still use weights to pull and secure fabric on a table while the blade cuts the fabric to the pattern.

You can see the problem now.

After you remove the weights, the fabric shrinks back to it's original size leaving a discrepency between the intended size and the cut size. Then, after a wash or two, you get a ton of returns.

As simple as it sounds, fabric cutting has to be done right and it's just as technical as any other part of the process.
